Kingsland Commons

$286 Million

The Hudson Companies and St. Nicks Alliance were designated by HPD to redevelop the Greenpoint Hospital Campus in the East Williamsburg neighborhood in Brooklyn. Unoccupied since 1982, the team will transform the historic hospital campus into a new mixed-use development including the adaptive reuse of two hospital buildings and two new construction buildings. The housing will serve extremely low-income and very-low income residents and seniors. A new homeless shelter, operated by Project Renewal, will be situated in one of the historic buildings and will serve 200 New Yorkers experiencing homelessness. A network of new open spaces, retail, and community facility space will also be created to connect the campus to the surrounding neighborhood.

Construction on the second phase of Kingsland Commons is set to begin this fall. This phase consists of the construction of an 18-story building with 311 permanently affordable homes serving low income residents including formerly homeless individuals and families. Construction is expected to be completed in April 2027.
