2025 Ones To Watch - Industry Leaders: Osei Rubie, National Standard Abstract
Osei Rubie - President - National Standard Abstract
“Osei has demonstrated true excellence in providing title insurance for some of the most complicated affordable housing transactions across the city. Not only has he provided phenomenal service to his clients, but he also makes a dedicated commitment to invest into the same communities where the projects are located, through donations to youth programs and community incentives.” - Ericka Keller, President, Brisa Builders Development LLC.
Recent goal and impact:
After surpassing the $2 billion threshold of closed transactions we set another goal to close another $1 billion by year end 2024. By January 2025 despite the volatility of the real estate market we reached our goal. This was even more significant because 2025 marked the 10th year anniversary of our firm. Within a decade of the commencement of our business, we have now closed over $3 billion in real estate transactions.
Turning problems into opportunities:
The properties owned by Faith Based organizations in New York city often face unique challenges such as regulations and or easements, a faith-based organization we worked with had a previously agreed upon easement with the city of New York that was negotiated by the previous church leadership. We were able to help them navigate through the process of removing the easement successfully, thereby gaining their support and confidence which lead to the engagement of other faith-based organizations.
Giving Back: We’ve made it a point to empower students with interests in business, sports, and academia to take their pursuits to the next level with over $250,000 given to nonprofit organizations with a focus on youth since starting National Standard Abstract in 2015. To add onto our philanthropic goals, we’ve recently launched “The Rubie Family Scholarship” at Grambling State University. Often, students can’t afford the high costs of college and the scholarship is a pathway to them achieving their goal. We wanted to make sure that the next generation has the tools to succeed.
